Featured Shoes: Vans California Switchback – Gargoyle/Raven Sneakers

If you look around you would see a dozen of winter sneakers in water-proof materials but if you turn your head and you see a pair of Vans California Switchback, you will come up with a totally different perception. Simply because this pair does not possess leather, nylon, or rubber on the upper, instead it has wool construction, which has definitely a non-water-proof component.

Although wool is commonly used on apparel, Vans decided to apply it on the Switchback model knowing that it would somehow draw different thought. The idea behind this assembly is to bring warmth and comfort while displaying a completely unique sneaker exterior. Other brands have used fabrics on their shoes but wool is quite appealing especially that gargoyle type has been used on the entire shoe except for the raven collar. The gargoyle part comes in two tones – stealth gray for the body and dark gray for the forefoot while dark gray raven is utilized to form the collar. Brown wax laces keep up the closure whereas white vulcanized rubber with black thin strip completes the sole.

Stocks of this Vans California Switchback are now being displayed on Extra Butter’s shelves with a price tag of $80.
