Featured Shoes: Vans Authentic x Queen Sneakers

According to history, British rock band Queen was formed in 1971 which means that an upcoming 40th Anniversary is just a few months away. Queen is one of the most bootlegged bands ever and it has achieved a lot of awards including a record in the Hall of Fame. Behind the group’s successive performances was a tragedy – Freddie Mercury’s death in 1991. Despite this depressing moment, the remaining members of the band remained intact as they continued to do concerts with collaborators. And being unbroken up to this day gave a chance to a famous sneaker brand, Vans to accomplish a collaborative project.

The remaining Queen members joined Vans in creating a commemorative pair of Authentics that reveals the group’s achievements. Dark denim material was used to build the upper with bright red contrast attribute in the form of top eyelets, Vans tab on the side, Queen tongue logo, visible collar stitching, and strip skirting around the midsole. Inside the shoe is a more fascinating feature since both lining and insole are covered with Queen’s album artwork of all 118 studio albums that they produced. Vans also added a pop of honor to the group with the Queen-labeled shoe lace tips.
