Vans is up for another collection that is powered by a well known New York-based vegan straightedge hardcore band. Gorilla Biscuits was invited to do a collaborative pack with Vans and picked up two models subject for the revamp. The Sk8-Hi and Slip-On both undergone total make-over that resulted to earth and pastel-inspired colorways.

Gorilla Biscuits introduces the Sk8-Hi in an upper that consists of chocolate brown toe box, lace panel, and heel with mocha midsection and collar. The eyelets are coated with bright orange teaming up with the shoe laces and Vans tongue logo and strip along the side panel. A grayish contrast stitching comes very prominent but what’s more shocking is the bright orange strip around the turquoise midsole.

For an electrifying appeal, the Slip-On is dolled up in a two-toned grey upper with burgundy accent and a light neon green sole unit and interior lining. The Vans tab appears diagonal on the lateral.

Reinventing is always a perfect way to discover new things so Vans locked up into utilizing a fabric that is known to be of Mexican origin, the Mexican blanket. The project that comes in a duo featuring the Slip-On and Sk8-Hi is now up in another brightly colored. Almost similar to its previous Mexican Blanket release, this next version has the two models in pink shades.

First off, the Vans Slip-On owns dark and light tones of pink laid in gradient effect along the toe and tongue including side and heel panels with minimal hits of blue strip along the side of the toe box. Purple overlays come underneath the collar and on the tongue edge while the sole unit is done up in off white vulcanized rubber sole with purple strip. The Sk8-Hi reveals an identical upper with off-white Vans strip along the side and purple lace panel. Pink shoe laces complement the pink strip that skirts along the off-white midsole.

To end the summer sneaker galore, Vans took its last shot with the most vibrant pack for the season, combining the Era and Slip-On models. This next collection is called the ‘Madras Tartan’ that basically refers to the major fabric used on the sneakers’ uppers. Aside from canvas, Vans gives an enhanced look to all six pairs (three each model) by implementing Madras fabric on the toe and heel. Madras takes its name from the former English name of the city of Chennai, India, and it is a lightweight cotton fabric with typically patterned texture and plaid design. Madras fabric is primarily used for summer clothing and with the advanced method it is now utilized in the sneaker industry.

Amazingly, these Vans Era and Slip-On are now dressed up in six colorful combinations. For the mixture of colors both Era and Slip-On come in a combination of yellow-dominated plaid plus purple, a pair of red plaid/navy, and bright red/yellow. All six pairs sit on traditional white vulcanized rubber soles with stripe detailing and Off The Wall label on the heel.

The Vans Slip On has been seen with a checkerboard pattern on it for decades now and no matter how many times we see it we still can’t get enough of it. The most recent pairs that we saw to feature the checkerboard pattern were part of the Crayola x Vans Collection, but we have now just received word about this new collection of Vans California Slip-On Woven that will receive a special leather woven construction that looks really nice.

This collection will come with three different colorways, one in navy blue, one in brown and one in black. The woven section will be made up of woven sections of leather towards the front of the shoe. The ankle and heel areas of the shoe are made up of smooth leather. These shoes feature a print of pieces of artwork that are iconic to this Chicago based hardcore band. The shoes are multicolored with greens and purples being the colors that instantly pop out the most. The inner lining of the shoe and the instep also feature some cool patterns and colors as well as the band’s logo. This is just more proof that Vans is going to be here and will be pushing out fresh new gear for years to come.
