Lately we have been commenting a lot on the different path that Vans has decided to take over the past year or so. Although in some people’s opinion it might be quite far off from the coolest thing around, the boat shoe has been able to gain itself a nice little bit of popularity over the past couple of years. Sometimes companies will release a full fledged boat shoe and sometimes they will just add a boat toe onto a pre-existing shoe. This is an example of the latter in a shoe that just about all of you should be able to recognize right from the start, this is the new Vans Vault Sk8 Hi Boat LX Navy.

This shoe will feature a soft navy leather upper and will make use of white contrast stitching around the toe to help it to stand out a little better. This will all rest on top of a vulcanized sole and brown leather laces will poke their way through metal eyelets.

The thing that we love about the classic Vans sneakers is that for most of us they bring back memories of a simpler time, when we had much less to worry about and life was pretty much carefree. These days life is much more stressful for the majority of us, but sometimes all it takes is slipping on a pair of old classics and remembering the good old days. The main difference here between these shoes and the ones from the past is that these ones will feature Ostrich leather and a worn midsole as well. This is definitely a very different take on the Sk8 Hi, but we think it is very nice all the same.

Vans is up for another collection that is powered by a well known New York-based vegan straightedge hardcore band. Gorilla Biscuits was invited to do a collaborative pack with Vans and picked up two models subject for the revamp. The Sk8-Hi and Slip-On both undergone total make-over that resulted to earth and pastel-inspired colorways.

Gorilla Biscuits introduces the Sk8-Hi in an upper that consists of chocolate brown toe box, lace panel, and heel with mocha midsection and collar. The eyelets are coated with bright orange teaming up with the shoe laces and Vans tongue logo and strip along the side panel. A grayish contrast stitching comes very prominent but what’s more shocking is the bright orange strip around the turquoise midsole.

For an electrifying appeal, the Slip-On is dolled up in a two-toned grey upper with burgundy accent and a light neon green sole unit and interior lining. The Vans tab appears diagonal on the lateral.

This Vans x Gorilla Biscuits pack will drop sometime next month.
