Lacoste’s biggest collaboration for 2010 was the Lacoste Legends that took various artists and designers including retailers to join in the said project. Its launching was successful and for several times, we have seen each model featured here. Now, to continue seeking for dolled up shoes, we have spotted Lacoste that once again shows up in another pair that is definitely awesome.

The Cheve High L 42 is a high top sneaker that is inspired by a sailboat in which it displays a certainly unusual nylon ripstop tongue that uses extended laces on the sides to hold it upright. The side panel however reveals a colorful accent with the black, blue, grey, and red stripes that go in a parallel line. Nothing comes more interesting on the forefoot but the multi-colored laces contribute a unique contrast. A reflective silver label on the tongue depicts the shoe’s model number.

In our past article, Lacoste 12 Legends Footwear Collection, we featured all twelve sneakers that were created with the help of twelve collaborators. One of the genius minds behind this project is Boston retailer, Bodega whose finished product is a Lacoste Broadwick.

The Lacoste Broadwick x Bodega has a classic origin with a modern appeal that appears in navy blue herringbone upper with white vertical pinstripes along the side walls, and a rich navy blue suede toe box and tongue. Identical shade of blue in leather material makes up the lace panel with croc tonal embossed tab. What’s more interesting is the smooth orange leather inner lining, the first thing to pop out even from afar.

A nicely embroidered Bodega label appears on the heel tab that is also made up of orange leather. For a more classic image, Bodega crew also employed a vintage midsole with gum sole. The traditional Lacoste logo flaunts on the tongue.

This will drop on December 12th in 150 pairs only with Bodega holding a promo – first 50 pairs are packed with commemorative Bodega tees, one each.

British sneaker addict, Alex Nash who is also known as Nash Money made a turning point with Lacoste’s The Bravington model. Nash has extreme passion on sneakers since he was raised during the era that no one would ever resist talking about kicks. He admires the wonderful make-ups and innovations and perhaps this positive attitude motivated him to go for a pair that he knew would make a difference after some special treatments.

The Bravington, one of Lacoste’s famous models was picked by Nash to be the object of his innovation. Two colorways were created, one in yellow leather upper with white mesh inserts and the other is a recipient of a Baroque-styled design which employs brown and white leather with black tweed and black moccasin. Further detailing utilizes orange leather laces, and blue lace loops plus blue cross stitching. Both pairs feature an Alex Nash embossed namesake along the upper portion of the lace panel as well as crepe sole unit.

If you recall, three months ago, Lacoste brought together twelve famous collaborators, each picked a pair to do the make-over. Artists, musicians, designers, and even retailers were invited by the brand to express art in their own way by doing their own unique pairs of Lacoste shoes.

To have a brief review, let’s start with a pair done by designer Tim Hamilton. This high top boot sneaker comes in charcoal grey in tumbled design with black piping. The collar features an extension so to make the shoe look super high. Stones Throw aka DJ James Pants came up with a midtop which is made up of brown leather upper and white midsole. The SneakerFreaker-designed pair flaunts a boat shoe pack in black leather with black wool collar and mint green plus white accents. Japanese sneaker magazine, Shoes Master came up with a black suede midtop shoe that boasts multiple Lacoste patch logo and boot-like lace loops.

Sebastien Tellier sends out his thoughts by creating a blue nubuck pair with black patent leather midfoot strap. Jazzie B followed up with a minimalist low top pair in brown with white hints. British fashion magazine, i-D loves the idea of a green croc skin with matching white contrast sole unit while Hong Kong-based shop, D-Mop likes it better in pink suede. Retailer Colette designed another low top Lacoste shoe with abstract pattern and blue overlays with white sole unit. On the other hand, Lacoste’s artistic director, Christophe Lemaire chose to make a simple pair in white upper with green sole. Finally, retailer Bodega created a classic type in navy fabric upper with perforated vertical stripes, brown leather inner and heel tab, and a vintage midsole with gumsole, while Japanese designer, Ato Matsumoto had his high top pair in all-black upper with belt accent along the collar, patent heel and toe plus white sole.

Legendary footwear label, Lacoste brings together twelve (12) renowned collaborators from the worlds of music, media, design, and retail to create an exclusive collection of shoes. By implementing Lacoste’s authenticity and modernity, twelve (12) shoes were fused each has a tongue crafted from petit pique cotton, incorporating a woven LACOSTE-branded tab finished with a mother-of-pearl button. Each shoe was designed to reflect the broadly diverse personalities and creative talents of each of the contributors confirming their legendary status as the foremost trend-setters and opinion-leaders from across the globe. This workforce formed the Lacoste Legends project.

To celebrate the Lacoste Legends’ launching, the brand hosted a glamorous party at Berlin night-spot Stadbad that turned into a Lacoste haven complete with grass tennis court that served as the dance floor. The collaborators of the Legends who were present on stage were Stones Throw (DJ James Pants) who acted as the mixer DJ of the night playing famous tracks and Jazzie B, a former Soul II Soul member. Ten (10) more members of the Legends team are modern day enigma Sebastien Tellier, Japanese designer Ato Matsumoto, Lacostes’ artistic director Christopher Lemaire, designer Tim Hamilton, Australian magazine Sneaker Freaker, British fashion magazine i-D, Japanese sneaker magazine Shoes Master, US iconic store Bodega, Hong Kong-based shop D-Mop, and Destination Paris fashion store colette. A crowd of over 500 energetic people who were full of life shared with Lacoste’s impressive and unique project.

Founded by a Tennis player, Lacoste has now developed a good position for itself in the sneaker as well as apparel market. It has made numerous successful collaborations with some great players and gave its fans some nice sneaker pairs. Here is another collaboration of Lacoste with France’ s La MJC to develop a new Broadwick seersucker. This shoe has been named after a London’s street and has a very clean design.

This tennis shoe utilizes the seersucker material for its upper in pastel pinstripes of blue and white. It has been topped up with anchor icon touches in Red and looks really nice. The brown leather tongue  says “Fluctuat nee mergitur” which means “it floats but does not sink”. Further leather accents can be spotted at heel and the insole. This shows that this London-based sneaker designer is still in the game and all set to flaunt his latest customization. This hybrid sneaker is a combination of boat shoe and an athletic high top. It also features a combination of chukka silhouette with a moccasin toe and is available in White/White and Blue/White colorways. Lacoste and Nash flashes can be seen all around the sneakers. Large cross stitching can be seen at the toe area along with perforated detailing near ankle.
