Adam Trowell, better known as theMenace is one of the aggressive custom sneaker creators who lately manipulated two pairs of Vans Sk8-Hi shoes. If you haven’t seen a pair of jeans in shoes here’s a real deal.

Part of Trowell’s investment is to do an “ultimate sacrifice” which becomes the core of this custom design. This involves chopping off two of his favorite acid wash Levi’s 501s to serve what the shoes require. In an orderly process, Trowell was able to employ the jeans’ fabrics on two pairs of the Vans Sk8-Hi where one comes in black and the other is blue, both in acid wash. What’s pretty interesting is the Levi’s red tab inserted along the heel spine for that boastful effect. The white contrast stitching used is a match to the white vulcanized rubber sole.

This proves that the Menace is going up another level.

Today we are going to be taking a look at a sneaker that started out as just a simple general release Nike Dunk, but was quickly turned into something much better. Sometimes when people customize sneakers they just apply some paint and are done with them, but not here. While they kept the sole intact, they changed the materials on the upper, working in turquoise pigskin. There will be terry cloth mixed in as well to match the nickname of Towel, the one who ordered them.

It is not only the Bespoke program nor the NikeiD course will allow diligent designers to implement their preferred designs but even a stand-alone customizer can come up with a truly amazing Nike masterpiece. Take for example Desp1, one of our friends from Fresh&Fly who just revealed a pair of Nike Dunk Low in a military concept.

But Desp1 did not use a super camouflage on this pair, yet a bit of digicamo-printed fabric was used on the midsection while Japanese Salvage denim material was utilized by the remainder. For a very blue jeans look, gold stitching is used to join the panels. Desp1 planted a bright red Swoosh on the side and used the rest of this accent tone on the inside. For a more interesting look, an extension zip closure in the same digicamo print was attached on the lace panel as lace covering. The tongue owns a custom Nike label in bright red print teaming up with the shoe laces.
