Days of suspense and hours of waiting in line finally paid off as hundreds of sneaker heads entered Niketown San Francisco last night at Sole Collector’s Chamber of Fear event. Everyone from young collectors to mega-collectors such as Retrokid came sporting their finest kicks.

While the DJ was spinning and food and drinks were served, people browsed through the display cases, filled with special LeBron shoes and other rare Nikes. One table featured the wildest LeBron kicks customized by the best in the game.

An extremely limited “Hype” Chamber of Fear Air Force 1 was sold exclusively at this event; limited to only 150 pairs. As if that weren’t enough, there was a silent auction held for black/red/yellow/green Air Force 1 limited to only 5 pairs worldwide! The silent auction turned live as several sneaker addicts battled for the shoes until they finally sold for over $1600!

Tons of unreleased all-star LeBron IIs (grey/blue) were given away in the raffle along with CDs and duffle bags. A representative from Nike answered questions and spoke about James as well as Nike and Jordan’s plans for the future. He even gave away a few pairs of LeBron II “Triple Doubles” (retro uniform colorway) and SVSMs (high-school colorway) which came out of his own pocket.

The surprise of the night, however, came half-way through the event when The King himself arrived to check it out. He answered a few questions from the crowd, even stating his favorite shoe besides his own, the Black/Red Air Jordan XI.

The event turned out even better than expected. Everyone left happy with their LeBron t-shirt and CD in hand. But this is only the beginning; Sole Collector still has events planned in New York, Denver, Chicago, and Cleveland.
