Nike x Roundel by London

Inspired by the unique pattern from the London Underground transportation system, the Nike x Roundel by London Underground Air Max collection pays homage to the famous city landmark as part of the celebration for the Transport For London”™s 150th anniversary.

The collection includes Nike Air Max 90 and Nike Air Max 1 with uppers reworked by Roundel to feature the vibrant and iconic pattern from the seat upholstery found in the London Underground”™s railway cars. The geometric pattern executed in the sneakers was first created by designer Misha Black in 1978. Nike has also utilized its newest sneaker technology, engineered woven Jacquard, to achieve a one-piece weaving process for the new Air Max sneakers. This no-sew weaving technique lends a new look to the classic Air Max silhouette.

The Roundel branding on the embroidered tongue emblem and natural gum outsoles round up the look of the new Air Max colorways. The first 150 pairs of these commemorative sneakers will be launched at a special Piccadilly Circus station pop-up kiosk and will hit the shelves of select Nike retailers on December 14th.
