The Doernbecher Freestyle Project for this year has brought a bunch of wonderful details. Seeing young designers’ output can definitely make everyone believe in their God-given gifts. After Tony Signorelli and Mary Kate Hughes’ masterpieces, let’s switch our attention to Cooper Ladd’s revamped model of the Zoom P-Rod 2.5.
This skateboarding silhouette is now on its second year of Doernbecher participation. Similar to the first, this next design comes successful with the help of rookie designer, Cooper Ladd assisted by Nike professionals. Cooper’s perception of a unique-looking P-Rod has materialized when his blueprint turned into a hard piece having brown plaid pattern on the toe box, lower side and heel area. The mudguard appears in dark brown suede as well as the lace panel going through the heel. Cooper also used white leather on the center side with stealth leather Swoosh.
With a touch from the wilds, this P-Rod 2.5 received a giraffe print pattern tongue featuring animated logo while the inside comes in a purplish fur-like design. An insole that is inspired by some sort of wizard scene with swords is another great attribute. Lastly, Cooper made use of white with black strip midsole that has an icy outsole which vertically reads, “Just do it”.
