After a few Air Max versions, Nike’s official designer, Tinker Hatfield considered beauty and design as the focal point of this running line’s next model. As an artistic celebration of Air technology, the Nike Air Max 93 was created and it was the first Air Max product to employ a top line bootie construction technique for an improved comfort and fit. At that same period, the newly-developed heel Air unit has commenced.
It is a rare facet of a running sneaker to have a molded cushioning unit which is visible around the entire heel. The Nike Air Max 93 was chosen to carry the said prominent technology which was dubbed as “bubble”, a name that connotes to the unit’s physical appearance which is bubble-like in nature.
The Air Max 93 was engineered with an exceptional design, allowing a minimum amount of mesh to blend with the leather parts. A wavy fragment on the lateral separates the upper from the midsole while the Swoosh partly hides underneath the overlapping heel panel. The well-contoured ankle shape looks like a half-circle on a 45 degrees angle view, another astonishing feature.
Considering that the Air Max 93 is a product of modern technology, simplicity still wraps up the whole sneaker image. No complicated color match-ups and no excessive artistic design but a true figure of functionality, comfort, and durability. Other running shoes might get intimidated by Nike’s advanced line as this model joined the Air Max family and will continue to serve the hyperactive and optimistic sneaker enthusiasts.
