Featured Shoes: Air Jordan IV – Dr. Manhattan x Sekure D Sneakers

This next custom pair done by Australia’s Sekure D has a theme derived from the comic book limited series, the Watchmen. Watchmen focuses mainly on six characters namely, the Comedian, Doctor Manhattan, the Nite Owl, Ozymandias, Rorschach, and the Silk Spectre. Dr. Manhattan has been picked by Sekure D to be the inspiration of this Air Jordan IV re-make. The character appears blue with his forehead marked with the atomic structure of hydrogen, and declined a helmet with the atom symbol.

Amazingly, Sekure D capitalized on Dr. Manhattan’s looks and crafted this custom silo with a touch of the character’s powers – his superhuman strength, telekinesis, teleportation, control over matter at a subatomic level, and near-total clairvoyance. Also, the shoe is graced with NYC-style graffiti and the infamous ‘Who watches The Watchmen?’ phrase on the tongue in pink text color that matches with the lace. Other graphic details are featured on the tongue, collar, and lace panels.
