Air Jordan 4 / Air Jordan IV Sneakers

Air Jordan 4

In 1989 another Air Jordan sibling was born and took a course parallel to what Michael Jordan had chosen. MJ’s continuous rise was unstoppable as he dominated the stats on points, boards, and steals while the Air Jordan 4 also ruled the shelves.

Taking the flight, the AJ4 was known with its breathable mesh inserts, unique trapezoidal stabilization straps, and shiny new “Flight” logo. Thanks to Tinker Hatfield for the second time in designing this signature shoe’s incredible cushioned sole. Finally, the former non-moving brand reached the scale of winning the title as International Bestseller with a big screen cameo to boot.

The Air Jordan 4 also led in the commercial industry with Spike Lee’s extra promotion in his movie “Do The Right Thing”. This prompted a scene in the film where a pair of brand new Air Jordan 4 was scratched by a bicycle and the owner placed it upon a fire hydrant and cleaned it with a toothbrush.

After all the fame and popularity, however, users of the Air Jordan 4 lately found some flaws after some time of wearing. The sneaker’s plastic heel tab had been causing Achilles tendon rupture to players who wear the AJ4 and were engaged to the sport. With this, in 2004, a revamped version eliminating the disturbing heel feature with smooth leather was released.

Extending the retro mode, more Air Jordan 4 were featured on 2005 and 2006, this includes a special collaboration of shop Undefeated, the Olive-Oiled Suede Flight Satin (UNDFTD). Brand Jordan issued 72 pairs with a design inspired by the MA-1 Flight Jacket. Shop Undefeated ran a raffle and auction for a chance to win a pair of sneakers.

In the long run, numerous retro models were released until the Re-Retro Laser era up to present.
