Adidas re-released the Grand Slam model that first appeared in 1981 as a tennis sneaker that possessed adjusting cushioning system featuring three pegs. This shoe was originally created as a tribute to German multi-awarded tennis player, Steffi Graf who won 22 Grand Slam singles tittles, and the only player to have won all four Grand Slam singles tournaments, at least four times each year.
Graf’s excellent achievement inspired Adidas to develop the Grand Slam and now it is making a come back in a White/Gold colorway. Generally having a White leather upper, this shoe renders a neat construction that sports a perforated toe box, 3 Stripes-designed side panel, and a metallic Gold heel panel bearing the Adidas leaf logo.
The vintage textured sole features the famous 3-Plug cushioning System on the heel area which comes in three different colors: Green/Grey/White, and next to it is an engraved Adidas branding. On the inside is a White perforated liner.
